These are the most yummy 7 layer magic bars and always a party pleaser no matter the time of year or the kind of party. My brother and I have been hooked on these 7 layer bars since we were kids. My mom would make them for birthday parties and as one of her many varieties of holiday cookies she’d bake each year. She’d actually bake about 5 different kinds of cookies each holiday for guests and for us. She was our own Martha Stewart baking, crafting, cooking, gardening and throwing stylish parties with friends.
7 Layer Magic Bars
Perhaps these 7 layer magic bars are one of the reasons I have a sweet tooth? Definitely.
I have baked these cookie bars for many occasions and it was time to share the recipe with my co-host Jesse Brune-Horan on our channel – Super Easy with Jesse and Alison. Watch the video for how to bake 7 layer cookie bars and and Jesse’s colorful commentary. Plus, you’ll see my craftyDIY tip on how to serve them as individual wrapped bars so your hands stay mess free.

The Most Yummy 7 Layer Magic Bars
Recipe:
We used an 8X8 glass baking dish. You can adjust the recipe for a larger pan.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
¾ cup melted butter
¾ – 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
Mix these two ingredients together. Pour and spread evenly onto the bottom of the baking dish.
Start adding the layers of additional ingredients and spread over the top of each corresponding ingredient:
Approximately ¾ of a bag of chocolate chips (dark, semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
Approximately ¾ of a bag of butterscotch chips ¾ cup
chopped nuts (walnuts, almond or pecans)
¾ cup of shredded coconut
Optional – add an 8th ingredient on top of white chocolate chips.
Pour ¾ of a can of condensed milk over the top of the ingredients.
As it bakes, it will help melt the ingredients together. Bake for approximately 25 minutes, but be sure to check it to make sure it doesn’t burn on top. Take the 7 Layer Bars out of the oven when done and let it cool for 20-30 minutes.
I like to put it into the fridge for another 20 minutes after it’s cooled. This makes it easier to cut the bars without it getting messy. Then cut into bars as big or small as you wish. Did you see my inexpensive, super easy way to serve the bars?
