When I’m planning a big party I like to find ways for new and old guests to get to know each other which is why I set place cards to strategically introduce friends and stimulate fascinating conversations. With a little ingenuity and a stop at the crafts store, my Super Easy co-host and I constructed five stylish and creative DIY place cards for weddings and events. These are fun themes, easy DIY and super affordable whether you’re creating for 10 or 100 guests.

Check out the super easy directions below:
“The Golden Leaf” – take any leaf from your yard and make a design using a gold (or silver) metallic pen. It’s super easy!
“Wood You Dine With Me” – glue a wooden letter to represent your guests’ initials onto an old card or decorative piece of paper & clothes pin it to their napkins. The place cards are from Minted.com party decor and the wooden letters are from Michaels craft store.
“Written In Stone” – find a dark stone with a smooth surface (a bag of smooth rocks is available at most craft stores for under $5) and write your guests’ names with a white chalk pen. Add an extra design element by wrapping twine, string, or yarn to the end of the stone. These creative DIY place cards can be used again by simply washing off the name and writing with a new guests’ name.
“Paint Chipped Glass” – repurpose paint chip samples that you can get in the paint section at most hardware stores for free. Simply cut the paint chip into any shape that you’d like, write your guests names on the design, and attach it to a wine glass. We used mini clothes pins that we got a bag of at our local craft store for under $2.
“So Very Rosemary” – write your guests name on a small piece of sturdy paper or a name tag, and punch a hole in the end of the paper (we used pre-made wooden name tags) then run a piece of rosemary through the hole for a fun organic design.

These all look so fun but I especially love the stones and the ones with the rosemary! Lovely!
Love all of these, but I think the stone is my favorite. It would make for a great keepsake!
What a lovely post – I love all the designs! I am always having guests over, so I am happy to get new ideas 🙂
