Super Easy DIY Paint Chip Party Decor

Parties can be expensive. We found a way to make the party look colorful and be affordable with these super easy DIY paint chip party decor ideas. Paint chips are free so you’re already off to a great start. We show with a few minutes of creative DIY how to make the invitation, table settings, banners, goodies bags and more. Plus, you can make these fun party projects in under 5 minutes.

Super Easy DIY Paint Chip Party Decor

All you’ll need for several of these projects are: Scissors, an exacto knife, ruler, pencil and some clear drying glue. It’s that easy!

For the various shapes, I used specialty lever hole punch designs from Michael’s. The large flower and small heart from our designs are by Recollections.

Paint Chip Party Invite

Super Easy DIY Paint Chip Party Decor

Use an exacto knife to cut two lines along the thin white space that separates the different colors on the paint chip. Cut almost to the edge. Pull the middle cut piece slightly forward and slip a piece(s) of paper with details of the party through the slot. The paint chips we used fit perfectly into a small envelope and can easily be mailed. You can also glue another paint chip on to the back side of the paint chip to cover up the back side and make it more colorful.

DIY Paint Chip Party Decor

Use an exacto knife to cut two lines along the width of the paint chip leaving a section of about 1.5 -2 inches. Cut almost to the edge. Pull the middle cut piece slightly forward and slip the napkin through the open slot.

Paint Chip Hanging Banner Décor

Using a pencil and a ruler draw angled lines on the back of the paint chip to create a triangle shape. We chose a triangle shape, but you can choose any shape you wish to create as you banner. Punch two holes on either end of the portion you plant suspend the banner from via string. Pull string through the two holes and continuing so in that for however many pieces you wish to string together. Then hang.

This is one you can get kids involved in making as an easy DIY paint chip party decor project. Use simple brown lunch paper bag, cut shapes from the paint chips or use a lever hold punch to make it even easier and the simply glue the pieces on the bag.

Another super easy DIY paint chip party hack. With a lever hole punch cut a design out of two paint chips of different colors. Then swap filling in the hole shape with the opposite color. You can tape the piece in place on the back. With a colorful or metallic marker write a name or table number.

Since you want to be able to clean up easily afterwards we suggest that you create medium size shapes with a lever punch unless you plan to vacuum up small pieces. You can easily do this while you binge watch a show.

Here’s an even easier party invite. Take a large paint chip and hand write with a marker the details on the various color portions of the paint chip.

Out of wrapping paper? Let paint chip be your answer. You can easily cut shapes or create a collage with paint chips  to design a pretty  box or package for giving a gift in lieu of wrapping it.
