Fashion Makeover – Alissa

Fashion is Fun!

Time to reinvent your wardrobe, experiment with what you own and find multiple ways to wear one piece. You try on clothes in a department store, so think of your closet like one. Start “shopping” the rack, shelves and drawers in your own closet to cook up some new looks. Here’s one of my many fashion makeovers featured in the series “Style Dish” where we add one new addition to a woman’s closet and show how to wear it three ways.

Style Dish – Episode 2 – Alison & Alissa:

Meet Alissa, she’s a cool girl who works for Step Up Women’s Network where I’m a Luminary Circle member. At SUWN, we help and mentor teenage girls to become confident, college-bound and career-ready. Alissa was already quite stylish, but she wanted some help with being more experimental with her fashion picks rather than make “safe” choices. Since I am your Style Chef, check out how I take one key “ingredient”- a chartreuse zipper moto jacket from RACHEL Rachel Roy available at Macy’s and style it three ways in Alissa’s wardrobe. (And we love to encourage other cool women to join us, so please take a moment and click on SUWN.org to learn how to help teen girls and network with genuinely lovely professional women in LA, NYC and Chicago.)

I added an animal print skinny belt for a subtle edge to the look. White jeans are the perfect neutral to help other colors pop!

My fashion philosophy is that every item you own should be working triple-duty – every piece has a purpose and at least three ways to wear it.  In each episode, I visit a new woman struggling with her style. I’ll walk through her wardrobe, find out what she’s got going on and what simply has to GO, and then bring her guest back to the Style Studio.  With just one new ingredient — a dress, a top or the right pair of jeans — I “cook” up three different outfits, mixing the new item with pieces pulled from our guest’s very own closet!

I show how to inventively mix-and-match pieces, how to wear it for work AND the weekend, and how to mix up black-tie or first date, cocktail party or concert. I’m serving up style here, boosting women’s confidence and teaching them to be more inventive, creative and experimental with their wardrobe.
