I received this recipe from the creative team at Michael’s and Angela Chung.

12 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate bar, roughly chopped

12 oz white chocolate bar, roughly chopped

1/2 tsp peppermint extract

Green food coloring gel

Orange Crème Oreos, crushed

Halloween theme Kit Kat bars, broken into small pieces

Candy eyeballs

Black and orange nonpareil sprinkles and other optional Halloween themed sprinkles

1-Grease a large baking sheet with cooking spray (optional) and line with parchment paper. The cooking spray will make the parchment paper adhere to the pan so it won’t move around.

2-In a microwave-safe bowl, melt semi-sweet or dark chocolate in the microwave in 20-30 second bursts, stirring well between each burst until completely melted. Do not get any water into the bowl or over-heat because the chocolate will seize up and become hard and grainy.

3-Pour melted chocolate over the center of the parchment paper, and with an offset spatula, spread it evenly into a roughly 8×12 rectangle. Let cool completely at room temperature or in the fridge until hardened again.

4-If semisweet or dark chocolate cooled in the fridge, bring it out and let it come towards room temperature for 10 minutes before moving on.

5-Melt white chocolate just as you did the semi-sweet chocolate.

6-Once smooth and melted, add just a very small drop or a touch of green food color gel and peppermint extract. Mix well. Pour over the hardened semi-sweet or dark chocolate and spread evenly with an offset spatula until all the semi-sweet chocolate is covered.

7-Quickly before the white chocolate sets, sprinkle Oreos, Kit Kats, and Halloween sprinkles generously all over the surface. Then, place candy eyeballs on top. Let the chocolate set completely.

8-Break the chocolate into small pieces with hands or cut with a knife.

Happy Halloween and ENJOY the Halloween Mint Chocolate Bark!
