Pocket squares elevate the look and style of your outfit, suit or sport coat. You can wear a pocket square in your suit or sport coat breast pocket even if you choose to skip wearing a tie. When choosing a pocket square don’t match exactly with your tie. The colors should complement each other.
Here’s a men’s style fact: The pocket square’s popularity can be credited to King Richard II of England, who popularized handkerchiefs sometime between 1367-1400 for personal hygiene. Fast-forward to the 1900s, and every stylish man was wearing one. By WWII, handkerchiefs fell out of style for sanitary reasons, as in no more blowing your nose with a hankie and stuffing it back in your pocket. Pocket squares became a fashion accessory. Now there are dozens of ways to fold a pocket square.
