Step Up Womenâs Network and InStyle hosted the 10th annual Inspiration Awards Friday, held at the Beverly Hilton. Emmy Award-winner Julie Bowen, designer and CEO Trina Turk, and Color Force producer Nina Jacobson received awards. Honorees were recognized for their professional and philanthropic achievements that inspire women and girls to fulfill their potential. The 800-guest luncheon is estimated to have raised $400,000 for the organizationâs after-school programs that mentor teen girls from under-resourced communities.

Bowenâs Modern Family daughter Ariel Winter presented her with the Inspiration Award, while Turk was lauded by InStyle West Coast Bureau Chief Glynis Costin. Hollywood royalty Carrie Fisher served as Jacobsonâs on-stage presenter and had the packed ballroom laughing with remarks that sarcastically âparalleledâ their careers.

Step Up Womenâs Network celebrates it’s 15th year of service to women and girls and was founded by former UTA agent Kaye Popofsky Kramer. Marcia Gay Harden, Linda Cardellini, Anne Heche, Jurnee Smollett, Lesley Ann Warren, Amy Smart, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Kathleen Robertson, Joely Fisher, Lori Loughlin, Kellie Martin, Elisabeth Rohm and Marla Sokoloff also attended. As you can see, many of the celebrities sported Turkâs optimistic, colorful designs, including Bowen.

The event celebrated Step Upâs Class of 2013, which boasts 35 high school seniors who will graduate and head to college this Fall. Most becoming the first in their families to attend college. Teen honoree Angie Zavala read a touching essay about her Step Up experience and announced that she will attend Cal State Northridge. This marks the fourth straight year that 100% of Step Up seniors nationally graduated high school and were accepted to college. We’re proud of our teen girls!
