Brrr…..cold weather has arrived. Whether you’re seeking something classic or perhaps your outer layers could use a swift kick of inspiration, here are my top stylish coats for winter picks. Time to add some style to what everybody sees you wearing on the outside when outside.
10 Stylish Coats For Your Perfect Winter Wardrobe
My favorite new pink topper from Paul Smith.
I’m hooked on trench coats. I own several in a variety of styles, colors and price points from Burberry to Ted Baker to Uniqlo. So this must have trench coat called the Icon trench coat from J. Crew ($298) is just one more to add to my growing collection and yours.
I’m a big fan of Reformation and their use of sustainable methods and materials so this long black wool coat called the Hackney ($328) from Reformation was a no-brainer choice. It flaunts effortless style and is the ideal choice for those days you want nearly top to toe coverage.
Another long coat, another color. Classic colors like camel and black never go out of style so you’ll never regret a choice like this long camel wool trench coat from & Other Stories ($245).
So you say you want to amp up your outwear style a bit? This slightly oversized plaid alpaca coat from & Other Stories is another stylish coat for winter. It’s just the piece to give the impression of, “I’m cool, but not that cool that you can’t hang out with me” vibe.
No reason you can’t stand out when it’s cold. This bejewelled jacket from Zara ($120) is just the piece to give you and any outfit an instant lift in mood and look.
Stylish Coats For Winter
Affordable down vest? YES! Warm? Yes. If you haven’t gotten yourself the best quilted puffy vest then this one from Uniqlo ($50) is your solution. It comes in multiple colors, is lightweight and works over and under just about everything.
This field jacket from J.Crew ($148) is your year round go-to jacket. For winter, it becomes that layer under your puffer coat, puffy vest or wool coat when you need just one more piece to keep you warm. It steps in to act as a casual “blazer” for weekend wear when you’re having sweater fatigue.
Another trench that’s just as worthy for your wardrobe. This stylish trench from Everlane ($138) is just a tad longer to help give coverage when you wear a dress or skirt.
My pick for the perfect parka – Patagonia’s 3-in-1 parka. In this photo I’m at Pancake Rocks on the South Island of New Zealand famous for it’s limestone rock that juts out of the ocean in layers that look like pancakes. It’s considered one of Atlas Obscura‘s top 10 places to visit.
When the wind is whipping at you and that snowfall seems non-stop this is the perfect parka to get you through the coldest months and head into Spring with a smile. This Patagonia 3-in-1 Parka ($549) went with me to New Zealand last summer which was their winter. I hiked a glacier, navigated a pre-historic cave and walked miles in multiple cities and stayed warm and dry throughout our trip in this convertible coat. After lengthy research this is the best warm parka I found that still looked stylish, plus it comes in multiple colors.
