Stylist for Oprah’s Weight Watchers Commercials
Four of the exuberant group of Weight Watchers participants who were part of the commercials – Samantha Sutton, Jennifer Morin, Kylei Cuccinella and Holly Pernice. These “starlets” are some of the coolest, sweetest women you’d be lucky to meet and they had no problem striking a pose for photographer José Tutivén Franco (@Tutes) who took all the photos you’ll see.
Kylei was warm and genuine and I just wished she lived in LA so I could see her after the shoot. Her personality perfectly complimented this hot pink dress from Diane von Furstenberg from Neiman Marcus. The dress was just right from the slight A-line bottom half to the zip front to the length hitting just above the knees. Her necklace and bracelet are from H & M. I love this photo of Kylei and Oprah!
This smile on Samantha never left her face from the moment we met. Samantha was so excited to find a pair of pants that fit so well from hugging her waist and curves to the length needing no hemming at all and she’s model height at 5’10”. These incredible pants from AELLA are their high rise cigarette style which come in regular and petite lengths. I can attest to the power of these pants as I own these and other styles from the brand. They make a pair of skinnies that you just want to live in. Her red top with peplum sleeves and black suede heels are from Ann Taylor.
Holly was ready to show off her curves and she loved a great dress. This Kiyonna navy wrap dress just flowed when she walked in it and the navy suede heels from Ann Taylor were a match, which is not an easy task for blues. Double hoop rose gold earrings from Joyus.com and a gold wire wrap cuff form Neiman Marcus Last Call finished the look.
Jennifer is only 5′. She was my petite powerhouse during the Weight Watchers commercial shoot. She dropped 85 pounds and wanted to show off her slim figure. I gave Jennifer a sleek, edgy look. As the stylist for Oprah’s Weight Watchers commercials I wanted to be sure everyone was happy in their new looks. When I asked Jennifer, “Do you like wearing black?” She said that’s what makes her most comfortable and confident. The best way to make it pop on camera is to mix the fabrics and textures. The White House Black Market black camisole paired well with the Ann Taylor faux leather leggings. I added a fitted, cropped jacket by Sass & Bide that was available at TJ Maxx. And you’ll see I added a pop of unexpected color with red suede heels from Ann Taylor.
Brandy Evans was game for trying on as many outfits as I wanted to and it was hard to choose since so many fit her well. She just said, “What’s next?” I’m a dress fiend and I was happy to introduce Brandy to Karen Millen which is one of my favorite go-to designers whenever I shop for a new dress. Her multi-strand crystal necklace is from Neiman Marcus Last Call. She said that she likes that Weight Watchers helps her focus on taking care of herself and isn’t solely based on a number on a scale. She says she now treats her body more like a temple of the Lord rather than a trash disposal.
In all the photos I’d seen of Jenni Davis she was wearing jeans so I knew I was going to steer clear of denim. I wanted her to meet Oprah in an outfit that exemplified a young, feminine look. This Rebecca Minkoff navy top, Romeo & Juliet lace pencil skirt pulled together with a White House Black Market reversible blu obi belt nailed it. She said Weight Watchers has given her more confidence and in this look it was easy to see.
For Sophie Webb it seemed natural for me to style a look to play up the intensity of her blue eyes. When she tried on this royal blue dress by Taylor it was a hit. I cinched it at the waist with a gold belt from H & M and added some gold jewelry from H & M as well.
Todd Gonzalez lost over 165 pounds by the time he and I met. I was the lucky one who introduced him to an XL which was his next lower size in his weight loss journey. He said that Weight Watchers helped him stopped living his life on the sidelines. Ben Sherman blue v-neck sweater, Vince Camuto lavendar and white button down shirt from Nordstrom Rack and Lauren Ralph Lauren grey pants that were available at TJ Maxx. Black dress shoes from Zanzarra at Nordstrom Rack.
And thanks to Maidenform, Bali and Hanes for the shapewear and bras provided for the women as well.
A brief moment during fittings.
Thank you so much Alison! I am definitely a jeans girl but this outfit really brought out confidence I didn’t even know I had! I felt so beautiful! You are amazing at what you do.
I want to take the time to share how much of an incredible experience this was for me. I’m still pinching myself at this opportunity of a lifetime. Alison and her amazing team are so talented and this style chosen for my interview with Oprah was the perfect color to show off the new me! Alison knew exactly what style and color would work for my new body. This dress was super fun, but very classy. After losing 76 lbs I had no clue what styles would work with my new shape but thanks to Alison sharing some amazing tips I left knowing the right way to style and pair items for a fun stylish look.
Your way of explaining all in this post is genuinely
fastidious, all be able to effortlessly be aware of it, Thanks a lot.
